Mature Students

Mature students come to Fleming College from a variety of pathways. As a mature student, we have options designed to help you meet your career and learning goals:

  1. If you are a college or university graduate, you can take one of our post-graduate programs to gain practical experience in a specialized career area.
  2. Are you unemployed? Through the Ontario government’s Second Career initiative, you could be eligible for up to $28,000 towards your tuition, living and transportation expenses while you study. Several Fleming College programs are Second Career eligible, to help you to transition to a new career.
  3. Maybe you did not graduate from high school. Did you know you could be eligible for admission to one of our college post-secondary diploma programs as a mature student? If you are 19 years of age or older and you did not graduate from high school, consider attending one of our Information Sessions available at each campus. Academic Upgrading courses are another means to help you obtain high school equivalency for college studies or an apprenticeship.
  4. Are you working or do you have family commitments that prevent you from studying full-time? You can check out our Continuing Education courses that are offered in the evenings or week-ends. Online learning courses are also available.
